State of Massachusetts Assistant Unit Director in Wrentham, Massachusetts

The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is searching for a compassionate, enthusiastic professional for the role of Assistant Unit Director (AUD)/Program Manager II (PM 2) positionto work at the Wrentham Developmental Center. The Assistant Unit Director will work with the clinical staff to ensure participation with work and day services, as well as at other times of day, to enhance individuals’ active treatment outcomes and assures that clinical schedules are followed. They will also work with staff to maintain accurate master schedules for all individuals in the unit. _Job Responsibilities_: (The duties and responsibilities stated are general summary and not all inclusive.) * Responsible for overseeing data collection for all aspects of staffing and complete reports related to residential operations. * Work with dietary staff to address issues involving food delivery and dining supplies. * Maintenance and housekeeping liaison to ensure timely repairs and cleanliness within all homes. * Work closely with Labor Management and Human Resources on transfers, leaves of absence, Industrial Accidents and Disciplinary hearings. * Ensures personnel issues, including hiring, promotions, disciplinary actions and training are completed, consistent with facility and Department policy. _Preferred Requirements_: * * Demonstrate sound leadership skills and an ability to work independently. * Proficient with use of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook and other PC based software. * Capacity to maintain accurate records and exercise discretion in handling confidential information. * Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse workforce. * Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize projects. * Talent for exercising sound judgment, especially discretion in handling confidential information. _Agency Requirements:_ * Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age. * Must possess current and valid Class D Motor Vehicle Operator's License. *_Special Requirements:_ * Designated as an “EMERGENCY” Position in the Department of Developmental Service’s Emergency Plan. Substitutions: I. A certificate in a relevant or related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience. II. An Associate’s degree in a related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience. III. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field may be substituted for two (2) years of the required experience. IV. A Graduate degree or higher in a related field may be substituted for required experience.
