Imperial Distributors Slotting and Storage Specialist in Worcester, Massachusetts
The Inventory Storage and Slotting Specialist is responsible for guiding the slotting team, managing location and item data, and leading projects to optimize storage and picking efficiency within the pick module. This role involves both strategic and hands-on activities, including analyzing data, implementing slotting and storage strategies, and directly supporting the team. Monday - Friday; 8am - 4:30 pm The successful candidate will be responsible for performing all of the duties successfully, related to Slotting that includes: Essential Duties and Responsibilities: \ Coordinate daily activities of the slotting team \ Provide training and support to team members to ensure effective methods are utilized \ Collaborate with warehouse management and inventory control to understand current business objectives with slotting and storage. \ Understand storage needs based on order frequency, volume and cube and recommend changes in the order cycle to drive storage improvements. \ Understand current storage capacities and utilization and recommend adjustments to racking, shelving, and other infrastructure for optimal flow and storage. \ Proactively recommend opportunities to improve slotting and storage efficiencies and minimize picking and replenishment errors. \ Participate in projects related to warehouse process improvements. \ Analyze inventory and item data to determine optimal slotting solutions \ Create and execute daily slotting projects in alignment with established slotting goals \ Monitor the effectiveness of slotting strategies and make necessary adjustments based on data insights. \ Identify data needs for understanding storage and slotting efficiency and collaborate with Information Technology for tools and dashboards. \ Ensure all processes are followed entirely \ Operate Cubiscan Dimension and Weighing System \ Certified, operates, and trains slotting team on Power Industrial Trucks \ Ensure all item information is validated at Cubiscan and captured correctly in the Item Master. \ Problem solve issues related to slotting, and effectively resolve in a timely manner \ Attend cross departmental meetings related to slotting \ Prioritize requested projects from multiple departments \ Perform other duties and special assignments as required. Qualifications \ High School Diploma or GED \ Previous leadership experience preferred \ Knowledge of AS400, and/or Warehouse Management Systems preferred \ Knowledge of Sequel preferred \ Business Intelligence Language Skills \ Ability to read and write correspondence in English. \ Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
