The Operations Support Specialist will support the Production Manager by working collaboratively between scheduling and production to support daily, weekly, and monthly operations. The main responsibility will be to ensure production has all required materials and information to be able to execute daily operations smoothly.

Essential Functions

Work with supervisors, production manager and master scheduler to make a detailed 24hr production plan by machine. Ensure all information, packaging materials, film and chemicals are clear and organized at the floor level. Any special instructions are included.

Work directly with supervisors on floor to fix issues that arise during the day which includes researching past orders, fixing data entries, and tracking specific shop metrics. Act as backup to shift supervisor as needed.

Own the work order package (information) as it processes through production floor from start to finish. Ensures all information is correct, complete and fixes any inconsistencies such as routing accuracy or BOMS.

Responsible for chemical inventory tracking, non-inventory packaging and consumption reports.

Work directly with Master Scheduler on monthly outlook of capacity and constraints. Assist in gathering and providing production data needed for trials or outside services.

Practical/Technical Knowledge

Familiarity with manufacturing production, planning, and scheduling

Familiarity with coating, converting and lamination of film product(s)

Familiarity with ISO 9001 Standard

Excellent organizational and problem solving skills

Dedicated, self-starter with a high degree of motivation, self-motivated and able to make independent decisions

Excellent computer skills including but not limited to Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Teams, and MRP/ERP using QAD

Excellent mathematical skills to be able to calculate unit conversions, fractions and run timing

Manage multiple projects at the same time, with a high level of detail and effective communication

Professional decorum for all interactions with customers, suppliers, and internal personnel

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Business, Supply Chain, Operations related field, or comparable experience in manufacturing

  • 5 years experience in Planning, Scheduling or Production Floor Supervisor experience in a manufacturing environment
