Prolonged separation from traditional supports such as family and close friends, highly stressful training and occupational demands, and mental or physical injuries sustained in combat, all can affect Veterans' personalities, self-esteem, and ability to function in civilian society. These personal challenges put them at greater risk for substance abuse and PTSD. Since 1990, we have helped more than 80,000 Veterans in need and today operate offices and programs in all six New England states and the northwest.Veterans Inc. provides wrap-around services addressing the "total Veteran," by incorporating employment and trainings services, assistance with housing, and supportive services ranging from temporary financial assistance to substance abuse treatment. We are looking for a proactive, ultra-organized, and personable Executive Assistant to provide top-quality administrative support to members of the Veterans Inc. Leadership team. The role requires standard business office hours with some flexibility because the position is more about accomplishing tasks and objectives with a high level of responsiveness than adhering to a set work schedule. Occasionally, there is a need to work additional hours on evenings or weekends to support company events. Roles and ResponsibilitiesProvide direct administrative support for our Executive team, managing multiple calendars and helping to keep the company running efficientlyAct as gatekeeper, prioritizing appointment requests and availability for our CEO and other members of the Senior Leadership TeamPlan and coordinate executive meetingsSupport material preparation for meetings: gather input, create, format, and edit presentation slidesAssists with quarterly Board of Director meetings by compiling the documentation and coordinating dates for meetings with board members. Attending board meeting when neededMaintain quality filing and communications systems including contact management, document management, and archivingManage certain scheduling and travel logistics for the Executive TeamCoordinate company events as neededSupply ordering and maintenance of office inventoryOnline research for various projects as neededThe successful candidate will possess:A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Business or related fieldMinimum of 4+ years of experience as an Executive Assistant reporting directly to senior managementA high comfort level with Microsoft Office productsHigh integrity and respect for confidentialityA passion for organization and strong attention to detailThe ability to work independently and exercise good judgement and decision-making skills while maintaining strictest of confidentialityThe ability to be flexible, adapt to changing situations, meet deadlines, and work under pressureStrong interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively and professionally with veterans, staff, management, vendors and other referral sources as neededA positive, can-do attitude with the ability to be creative and enjoy working within an environment that is mission-driven, results-oriented, and community focusedThe ability to travel with members of the Executive Team as neededPrior non-profit professional experience is preferred but not necessaryThe ability to successfully pass all Veterans Inc. pre-hire testing including, but not limited to CORI/Background and drug screeningPlease do not mail, email, or fax your cover letter/resume as we are limited to only accepting completed applications through our career page.
