Veterans Inc. Employment and Training Case Manager- Worcester County in Worcester, Massachusetts

With the belief thatthey were there when we needed them, so we must be there now that they need us, Veterans Inc., the largest provider of supportive services to Veterans and their families in New England is seeking to fill the Employment and Training Case Managers position and become a valued member of the Veterans Inc. team!Employment and Training Case Managers reintegrates homeless and at-risk veterans into meaningful employment as well as addressing the complex barriers they are facing. This team member will be responsible for client assessments, career/employment training/counseling/advocacy, outreaching to locate homeless/at-risk veterans, attending networking events and career/employment fairs, and establishing/maintaining positive professional relationships with local employers.The position would be based out of our Worcester, MA office but will spend an average of 3 days per week networking, outreaching, and meeting with clients throughout the following catchment area, Worcester County.DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:CASE MANAGEMENTResponsible for meeting a quarterly job placement goal.Performs initial intake and assessments of all veterans for acceptance into Veterans Inc. programs.Develops individualized service plans based on individuals strengths, interests, and barriers.Daily functions include job coaching, resume building, job searches, and mock interviews.Assists veterans in developing individual training plans that will fit their specific needs and skills to update, or retrain, for the current labor market.Coordinates internal referrals to other Veterans Inc. programs and community-based homeless service providers.Assists veterans with researching and accessing needed services including VA benefits, educational support, counseling, housing, medical services and other public benefits such as health care services, daily living services, personal financial planning services, transportation, fiduciary and payee services, legal services, child care, housing counseling services, and temporary financial assistance.Completes case notes/documentation responsibilities and compiles data for monthly reporting into the agency database and weekly meetings with leadership.OUTREACH/NETWORKINGSupporting the approach of meeting the veteran "where they are at". Meeting with veterans commonly happens within their local community (libraries, career centers, VA offices, public establishment with WiFi).Conducts outreach activities within the community with the goals of engaging new referral sources and recruiting veterans into the program.Develops and maintains strong and collaborative working relationships with employers, careers centers, veterans services agencies, etc. to provide a smooth and timely transition for veterans being reintegrated into the workforce.Organizes and presents job readiness workshops and develops other support services (interviews skills, resume writing, etc.) tailored to meet the unique needs of veterans.Key team member for preparing and organizing Veterans Inc. Annual Stand Down event where we provide supplies and services to hundreds of homeless veterans such as food, shelter, clothing, health screenings, housing/employment/substance abuse counseling and/or referrals.JOB KNOWLEDGEUnderstands all Department of Labor's (DOL) Homeless Veterans' Reintegration Program (HVRP) functions and initiatives.Understands the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs' (VA) Vocational Readiness and Employment (VRandE) functions and initiatives.WHAT YOU MUST HAVE TO BE SUCCESSFUL:Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work or other related field required.Military experience could be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.Minimum of two years' experience in Employment Training, Vocational Rehabilitation, Recruitment, Counseling, Outreach/and or Services to the Homeless, or related field, is required.Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Must be able to pass a CORI and background investigation.WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:Comprehens
