Saint-Gobain Electronic Technical Manager in WORCESTER, Massachusetts

We are in search of an experienced Technical Manager to oversee our quality control, operational excellence, and CAPEX department. The Technical Manager will lead the Electronics business growth by leveraging extensive knowledge of super abrasive manufacturing to identify and implement cost and quality improvements. Responsibilities include developing a modernization blueprint for long-term investments, integrating data from various departments to pinpoint areas for improvement, and assessing the technical and financial risks of new technologies. You will oversee project implementation, ensuring technical viability and performance objectives, while also implementing quality programs and conducting statistical process studies to resolve issues. The role may require travel to customer and vendor sites and contributing to special projects across different sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage quality control, operational excellence, and CAPEX department staff to achieve divisional and site objectives.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive quality programs in line with industry standards and certifications.

  • Enhance manufacturing performance and customer satisfaction through the adoption of World Class Manufacturing principles.

  • Oversee capital projects to ensure they meet standards and regulatory requirements, while optimizing costs and efficiency.

  • Provide leadership and support for business initiatives across the organization, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Polymer, etc.) required; Master’s degree preferred.

  • Over 5 years of strong project management experience in startup equipment and sustainment, including clean room environment experience.

  • Experience in the semiconductor/electronics manufacturing industry.

  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements and a strong commitment to safety practices.

  • Proficiency in Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing methodologies.

  • Experience with data analysis tools such as JMP or Minitab.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and project management tools.

  • Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing organizational needs.

  • Maintenance management/supervision experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
