Positions in this function are responsible for overseeing and participating in day to day clinical care of patients. Employees are involved in direct patient care (in a clinic, in-home care, etc.)

Reliant Medical Group has an opening for a full time Cardiology Technician at their Worcester Medical Group location.

Location: 123 Summer St, Worcester, MA

Schedule: Monday - Friday, Flexible hours between 7am and 5pm

Required Qualification:

  • High school education or equivalent experience

Functional Competency & Description:

  • HCT_Test Imaging/Safety/Other Medical Equipment Performance

  • Conduct quality control on imaging or other medical equipment

  • Respond to imaging or other medical equipment failures/problems (e.g., reboot, call for service)

  • Run calibration tests on imaging equipment

  • Ensure imaging or other medical equipment is running according to specifications

  • Check functioning of safety equipment (e.g., defibrillator)

  • Perform routine checks of crash cart

  • HCT_Take Patient History/Validate Order/Patient Information

  • Utilize imaging software applications to obtain/verify patient data (e.g., order)

  • Ask patient history questions and document patient history information

  • Verify procedure is supported by diagnosis/order

  • Check/verify patient information (e.g., demographics, date of birth, order details) prior to procedure

  • Answer patient questions

  • Obtain/enter/document additional pertinent patient history information

  • Identify/document patient allergies or adverse past reactions

  • Explain imaging procedures including what/when to expect each part of the process

  • Check patient and order information prior to procedure(check for valid orders, correct provider, patient identity)

  • HCT_Perform Imaging/Procedure Duties

  • Set up equipment per relevant parameters/order/procedure

  • Utilize shielding for radiation protection of patient and technologist

  • Maneuver/operate table/equipment to proper position

  • Start and maintain IVs/injections for patients for procedures requiring intravenous contrast media/isotopes

  • Adjust imaging process appropriately based on radiologists' expectations or type of procedure

  • Select appropriate technical factors to produce quality image while minimizing radiation to patients

  • Make exposure following standard protocols

  • Monitor patient safety/well-being and equipment functioning during imaging procedures

  • Utilize appropriate protocols and equipment safety features to stop procedures immediately when necessary

  • Review quality of images to determine whether additional imaging is necessary

  • Enter relevant image/process data into computer system (e.g., start/end of exam)

  • Learn/apply multiple imaging modalities

  • Perform procedures according to provided patient schedules and adjust schedules when necessary to accommodate additional patients or schedule changes

  • HCT_Perform Post-Imaging/Procedure Duties

  • Perform audits of patient exams/images based on established parameters

  • Send images to Picture Archival Computer System for storage/retrieval and radiologist review

  • Explain follow-up procedures to patients (e.g., general timeframe for receiving results)

  • Document findings from ultrasound images and submit to radiologist with images

  • Document activities in patient encounter form and submit to billin
