American Tower Senior Manager, Human Resources in Woburn, Massachusetts

The Team

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Human Resources to join American Tower’s Human Resources team. The Human Resources team works cross-functionally to help the organization reach its goals by attracting, engaging, and developing people within a culture that inspires excellence. Day to day, you will work closely with employees at all levels of the organization, including executive management, on Human Resources policies and programs. You will develop an understanding of the core strategies, goals, and objectives of the business units that you support, to identify business needs and Human Resources solutions. The Senior Manager, Human Resources works collaboratively with management in achieving business goals and proactively identifying ways to engage, develop and retain employees.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • Eight years progressive human resources experience in areas including but not limited to employee relations, employment law, talent management, organizational change, compensation and recruiting and training required.

  • Exceptional strategic and problem-solving skills to effectively influence decision-making in the areas of talent assessment, change management, organization development and design, performance management, talent acquisition and employee relations.

  • Demonstrated ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organization and be a strong contributing member of multiple teams. Specific experience working with senior level leaders in a trusted advisor capacity resulting in tangible impact to the business.

  • Approximately 20% travel may be required in support of the position’s responsibilities.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.

  • Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results.

  • Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment.

  • Provide valuable coaching to managers on business and employee issues by offering objective, informed and honest insight, while ensuring that issues that create risk are identified and mitigated.

  • Facilitate talent management review processes by providing appropriate coaching and education. Ensure that development plans contain rich discussion on talent and results.

  • Lead employee performance evaluation process and partner with management to ensure that all employees are provided with clear and consistent goals and feedback on performance; provide performance improvement recommendations and/or training where growth opportunities exist for employees to develop additional job skills.

  • Facilitate development and delivery of programs such as Performance Management Training, New Leader Assimilation, and other needed training.

  • Partner with business leaders on organizational change initiatives. Provide insight on restructuring or organizational design.

  • Resolve complex employee relations issues (e.g., harassment and discrimination allegations) in a balanced, fair and objective manner, using appropriate counseling, investigative, intervention and mediation techniques.

  • Other duties as assigned.
