Based in Woburn, MA, Cabot Risk Strategies is easily accessed off of 93 and 128, and employs 95+ people. Purpose and Description Responsible for handling all phases of assigned complex claims. Involved from initial contact through final resolution. Carefully documents all claims information and maintains accurate records complying with Claim Department Standards of Performance. Responsibilities include; coverage analysis, written and oral communication with all parties to a claim, litigation management, assessing potential exposure/damages and negotiations. Essential Job Functions Secures all required claim related information and documents the claim for compliance and management review Attend initial meetings with municipal officials and defense counsel. Provides written reports to management on all cases. Works within settlement authority structure including drafting requests for settlement authority. Issues claims payments and includes all payment documentation in the claim file. Conducts all aspects of claim investigation. Collaborates with defense counsel and management team to facilitate positive claim resolution. Assists in member orientation/reorientations and training. Other duties and projects as may be assigned from time to time. Minimum Requirements The following are required to enable the employee to perform the essential functions of the job. Skills/knowledge ? Excellent communications skills (verbal and written) required, along with the ability to handle in a professional manner matters of a sensitive or difficult nature. Must be able to maintain credibility with clients and develop a strong, ongoing relationship with defense counsel. Ability to follow a task through to a timely completion is mandatory. Experience/education ? Minimum of three years handling professional/employment liability claims. College degree or equivalent work experience required. Valid driver?s license and vehicle required
