American Tower Buyer, Supply Chain in Woburn, Massachusetts

The Team

We are seeking a Buyer to join American Tower’s Supply Chain organization. The Supply Chain team strategically sources quality materials and services at the lowest total cost while enabling effective and efficient purchasing solutions and enhancing supplier partnerships. Day to day you will manage transactional sourcing requests, data analyses, cost negotiations, and the purchase order lifecycle.  For a specific and assigned product line or business unit, you will ensure timely processing of requests, manage the order queue, and deliver timely updates to stakeholders.  As a Buyer you will work across functions and with external vendors to drive supplier performance and enforce sourcing strategies.

WhatYou Can Offer Us

  • Provide procurement subject matterexpertise for all purchasing activities, catalog/non-catalog requests, and bidanalyses and award recommendations.

  • Developa working understanding for supported lines of business and assignedcommodities, including strong knowledge of the supply base and project-specificservice level agreements.

  • Facilitatetransactional sourcing for a specified area of coverage, ensuring the scope ofwork is clearly articulated, vendors are appropriately assigned, and projecttimelines are supported.

  • Managetactical supplier relationship management processes, including onboarding, supplier master data maintenance, end-to-end purchase order management,and maintenance of vendor contract catalogs.

  • Leadopen order management process for assigned line of business or commodity,including providing timely, actionable information to relevant stakeholders,visibility to issues, and facilitation of root cause resolutions.

  • Performeffective data analyses to identify opportunities to increase value, reducecosts and risks, improve processes, and formulate recommendations.

  • Otherduties as assigned.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor’sdegree required, with a concentration in Engineering, Business, or SupplyManagement preferred.

  •  Up to 2 years’ experience in a Supply Chainorganization or on a Sourcing team, with a track record of meeting andexceeding goals and objectives preferred.

  • Experiencemanaging supplier relationships and negotiating statements of work and servicelevel agreements for individual requirements and within a fixed contractstrongly preferred.

  • Wirelesstelecommunications industry experience, including sourcing or working in theconstruction or operations functions, preferred.

  • Direct experience working with EBSProcurement tools preferred; Oracle iProcurement experience preferred.

  • Strongtrack record of identifying opportunities, problem solving, and deliveringresults.

  • Approximately 5 % travel may be required to support the position’sresponsibilities

  • Strong written and oral communicationskills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly andeffectively.

  • Ability to work with different functionalgroups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieveresults.

  • Strong organizational skills; abilityto accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes througheffective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment .
