POSITION SUMMARY:

Plan, manage, and oversee the formulation of all short-term and long-term strategic objectives and business plans for the Medical Business Unit product lines, including development of multi-generation product roadmaps, strategic pricing and price realization initiatives, leading stage-gate product development process and marketing activities, and executing opportunistic strategic partner development. Responsible for leading demand creation and product positioning activities across the sales organization to drive sales, profitability and market share while achieving strategic and financial objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement strategic plan for the Medical Business Unit product lines, including development of multi-generation product roadmaps and supporting business cases.

  • Manage P&L for the product line with a focus on achieving financial objectives.

  • Deploy and maintain product lifecycle management for the product line with a focus on product Vitality Index, and proactive prioritization of product development portfolio based on technology position, market and/or commercial position, time to maturity, associated risk and opportunity value.

  • Conduct voice of the customer (VoC) interviews through customer visits, industry association participation and competitive research, and feed identified market needs and benefits into point of views (PoV), product positioning, pricing strategy, product commercialization and launch strategies and product life cycle planning.

  • Manage pricing bands for the product line with a focus on meeting price realization objectives.

  • Maintain current knowledge and expertise of product technologies, new product designs, competitor capabilities and practices, market conditions, and market channels.

  • Develop and coordinate marketing programs and communications materials for all sales channels.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to develop constructive and effective working relationships with a diverse cross-functional global internal and external teams.

  • Demonstrates strong business acumen, and an ability to balance strategic and tactical priorities, and short-term and long-term objectives.

  • Proficient in consultative selling approach and identifying latent customer and market needs.

  • “A” player with potential to take over the business unit as part of succession planning.

  • Ability to distill & deliver complex messages to small or large audiences with an executive presence.

  • Strong communication skills (verbal and in writing) and can confidently interact with all levels in the customer or internal organization.

  • Can operate with high sense of urgency even in light of ambiguity & uncertainty and drive towards drives fact-based decisions.

  • Demonstrates a pattern of continuous improvement.

  • Highly effective time management and organizational skills.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 10+ years of successful product management experience, including involvement with strategic planning, product road mapping and an understanding of P&L management, preferably within the power supply or related industry.

  • Experience and knowledge of Medical Business Unit markets.

  • Technical understanding of power supplies or related products preferred.

  • Track record of progressive experiences.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; BS with MBA, or equivalent business experience, preferred

COMPENSATION:

As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $150,000 to $175,000 per year.
