We are seeking an experiencedLaboratory Technician II for ourGenetic Testing Services (GTS) site located inWilmington, MA.

Performs technical laboratory activities in support of client studies or procedures. Performs analysis of data for quality and completeness and determines if results are as expected. Records data in compliance with company and regulatory policies and standards to meet quality and accuracy requirements. Perform within the GTS laboratory to process and interpret internal and external samples by performing PCR testing (to include Taqman based PCR on 96 well and 384 well platforms). Fundamental knowledge of Mendelian genetics and PCR is preferred. Knowledge of molecular techniques and ability to operate typical laboratory equipment (specifically pipettes, thermocyclers and spectrophotometer). Proficiently perform DNA Extraction, organize and batch commerical and internal samples via extraction method or testing parameters. Reconcile customer paperwork with submission documentation to ensure accuracy. Make detailed observations and maintain documentation of all laboratory work. Analyze data and report testing results with respect to department turnaround time.

The following are minimum requirements related to theLaboratory Technician II position.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) or equivalent in biological sciences or related discipline.

  • Experience: 0 to 2 years related industry experience in a Pharmaceutical, Biotech, or Contract Research Organization laboratory environment

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above

  • Certification/Licensure:None

  • Other: Strong organization and prioritization skills are required. An attention to detail and accuracy is a must. Effective verbal and written communication skills are required. Employee must have the ability to communicate effectively in a small group or one-on-one setting. Basic Microsoft skills are required (for example, Word and Excel).
