Janitor
Position Summary
The role requires the above to be accomplished within Tecomet’s principles of continuous improvement, customer driven innovation and a win first culture, while meeting company financial and other performance metrics.
Principle Responsibilities
Perform a variety of janitorial and helper duties working in accordance with company practices, following prescribed routines.
Clean, wax and polish floors, stripping old wax, wet mopping and applying waxes, etc.
Vacuum carpets.
Clean restrooms and facilities.
Move trash and load dumpsters.
Dispose of metal chips and separate chips as required.
Replace water jugs.
Wash/clean windows, etc.
Perform grounds keeping duties of mowing lawns, sweeping walks, trimming bushes/hedges, shoveling snow, etc.
Perform helper duties to assist the maintenance supervisor.
Change light fixtures and replace light bulbs.
Maintain, lubricate, and clean plan equipment and machines.
Assist with moving machinery to relocate.
Help with plumbing on air/water lines and routine electrical work.
Assist with periodic maintenance of plant equipment and related tools and equipment.
Maintain necessary records.
Move materials as necessary in performance of duties.
Detect and report improper operations, faulty equipment, defective materials and unusual conditions to supervisor.
Maintain work area and equipment in lean, safe, and orderly condition.
Follow established company rules and regulations, safety precautions and maintain quality standards.
Qualification Requirements
Credentials/Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Work from manuals, guides and verbal/written instructions from supervisor.
Requires the use of reading and writing, adding and subtracting whole numbers, following of instructions, where interpretation is not required.
Work from waxing/polishing equipment, brooms, cleaners, rags, disinfectants, waxes, mops, buckets, vacuum cleaning equipment, transporters, hand carts, dumpsters, dollies, hand tools, lubricants, maintenance supplies and equipment and related tools and equipment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office
Excellent data entry skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and exercise judgment
