As an Internal Communications and Engagement Specialist , you will be a key member of our Internal Communications team, responsible for developing and executing communication initiatives that inspire, inform, and engage our employees. This role is ideal for a motivated, meticulous communicator and problem solver who thrives in an evolving environment and is excited to collaborate with teams and create purposeful and impactful internal communications across channels.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and curate high-quality, engaging content for various channels, including the UniFirst app, newsletters, flyers, and more.

  • Create and execute successful communication plans around HR initiatives, organizational announcements, and projects.

  • Collaborate with leaders and team members at all levels, providing thoughtful input to projects and responding to feedback from internal customers to adjust communications content as needed.

  • Ensure internal messaging aligns seamlessly with external messaging, maintaining consistency across all departments and communication channels.

  • Oversee the internal communications calendar.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills; able to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills to collaborate across departments.

  • A proactive approach to initiating and progressing plans and projects.

  • Experience in designing layouts for internal assets.

  • A curious, proactive thinker who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions.

  • Reliable, consistent, and provides high-quality work output.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, or Marketing is preferred.

  • 3-5 years of related experience.

  • Strong use of Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Outlook, Word).

  • Working knowledge of Canva is preferred. Working knowledge of InDesign is a plus.

  • Video and digital experience are a strong plus.

  • Experience working with an integrated intranet solution is a strong plus.

  • Hybrid work environment with the ability to travel to Wilmington, MA, weekly
