Your compensation will be based on the skills and experiences you bring to Smyth. Our Digital Diecut Operator performs manual and machine operator tasks related to finishing operations. This position will also inspect labels for errors and defects, following procedures for the First Article of inspection and all other quality checks. Employee Benefits: Medical, Dental, PTO, Short & Long Term Disability, Life Insurance, etc. 2 Shifts: Mon - Fri Nights -10:30 pm to 6:30 am AND Mon - Fri - 6:30 am to 2:30 pm Successful candidates will have Excellent communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Identify, recommend, and implement areas for Lean and continuous improvement/modification. Ensure processes are clearly managed, followed, monitored, and inspected. Work closely with teams/departments to create an environment that supports workflow and continuous improvements of all pressroom operations. Prepare and maintain appropriate documentation. Work safely, abide by and promote established safety policies and procedures; identify and follow-up on unsafe conditions. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to diecut and finish, while carefully inspect completed labels for errors and defects. Ability to set up, run, and maintain diecutter machines in an efficient and timely manner. Ability to read and understand all information pertaining to the finishing of an order before running. Inspect labels for imperfections; monitor Quality of finished product. Assist in the implementation and sustainment of standard work, 5s, and mistake-proofing in assigned areas and identify, recommend, and implement areas for Lean improvement/modification. Participate in continuous improvement teams focusing on Lean methodologies; help continue sustainability through following standard work and completing assigned paperwork; when requested, participate in kaizen events and daily improvement projects. Participate in cross-training with an open and positive attitude. Assist with experimental functions to evaluate new equipment, techniques, and materials as directed. Perform required preventive maintenance on assigned Finishing equipment. Work closely with teams/departments to create an environment that supports workflow and continuous improvements to the finishing operations. Interact with the Supervisor to help determine order priorities. Prepare and maintain appropriate documentation for assigned finishing tasks; enter accurate production information including finished product count and start/stop times in the data collection system. Ability to operate accessory equipment including material handling and forklifts.
