We currently have an opportunity for an Complex Risk Practice Leader.

Overview:

The HUB New England Complex Risk Practice Leader is responsible for developing HUB New England’s Complex Risk Practice and coordinating resources around solutions for complex risk issues including:

  • Loss sensitive/cash flow programs

  • Global Accounts

  • Captives

  • Risk Purchasing/Risk Retention Groups

  • Data/Analytics

  • Reinsurance

  • Alternative Risk

  • Transactional Risk

Responsibilities:

  • Has a manageable book of large and complex business as Client Executive or Account Executive with service team support, which allows for regional support for production and deliverables to large and complex clients across the region.

  • Develop the vision, overall strategy and local brand for HUB New England's Complex Risk Practice.

  • Knowledge manager of complex product offerings (e.g., loss-sensitive, captive solutions) and collateral requirements, including analysis, negotiation, and presentation. Stays current on trends, competitive intelligence, and industry changes through events and market resources to inform HUB colleagues and clients and deliver complex products and service needs.

  • Promotes and coordinates collaboration across region through regular meetings- supports common best practice, update on market conditions, national practice initiatives (if applicable), and internal/external resources (claims, loss control, loss picks, data analytics, software/tools).

  • Establishes, builds, and maintains strong relationships with insurance carriers and intermediaries that offer solutions for large and complex risk.

  • Negotiate with markets on complex placements for both new and existing clients as requested by local teams.

  • Assist producers and brokers in securing large, complex risks in the region, coordinating the appropriate team as needed. This includes prospect meetings, quarterbacking placements, and contributing to RFP responses (written and oral), as well as defending against competitive threats on major accounts.

  • Ensure continuous awareness of new products and service offerings aligned with the identified needs of customers with complex risk issues. Share market information with the region regarding the latest complex risk products and solutions.

  • Maintains a strong understanding of the region's complex risk book and key accounts, coordinating directly through the Producer or Account Executive to provide or arrange technical support as needed.

  • Active participant in HUB International's national practice and works with national practice to support and highlight thought leadership of HUB on complex risk issues.

  • Professionally represent HUB New England in meetings, seminars, trade shows, speaking engagements and networking events.

  • Develop new resources to support our clients both by training and developing internal team members and support the recruitment of outside talent to strengthen the practice and develop new capabilities.

  • Provides direct, timely feedback to team members to develop their skill and knowledge of the large and complex practice areas and to maintain expected service standards.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • At least 15 years of progressive technical experience and support ideally within an agency, brokerage or consulting firm; however, significant casualty underwriting experience with client-facing responsibilities would be considered.

  • Deep expertise, market relationships and strong visibility in the complex risk community

  • Proven progressive track record in supporting new business results.

  • A consultative, positive and resourceful approach to dealing with prospects, clients and associates.

  • Highly developed organization and time management skills.

  • Strong listening, written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Public speaking and presentation experience.

  • Strong degree of self-motivation with a demonstrated ability to lead/motivate others.

  • Is influential and persuasive with the ability to partner across HUB and work well with segment and other practice leaders.

Department Account Management & Service

Required Experience: More than 15 years of relevant experience

Required Travel: Up to 50%

Required Education: High school or equivalent
