Williams College* Furniture Procurement Specialist in Williamstown, Massachusetts

Furniture Procurement Specialist Williams' Furniture Procurement Specialist guides employees, departments, and project teams in the design, selection, and procurement of furniture for all college spaces. In this role you'll take ownership of all aspects of furniture management on campus including moving, repurposing, refurbishment, and procurement. You will work closely with Facilities Operations, the office for Planning, Design, & Construction, and the Zilkha Center for Environmental Initiatives to create, maintain, and improve policies related to inclusive accessible furnishings, healthy building materials and surplus property management. The ideal candidate is a great communicator who will maximize college resource allocation through aesthetically appropriate selections that incorporate resilient, sustainable, and cleanable materials that accommodate a diverse campus community. You will work with stakeholders to identify their furniture needs, engaging with vendors, executing contracts, and following through on completion. You provide a consultative approach for the interior design team, project managers, and facilities on projects small and large, from refitting an individual office to an entirely new dorm or other campus building. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent 3+ years of procurement, project management, or procurement / project management adjacent experience Demonstrated success interacting with a wide range of stakeholders Highly Organized Effective Communication Skills in a broadly diverse community Experience Negotiating and Administering Contracts Experience in Budget Management Ability to work independently You should be comfortable working with all members of the campus community as a resource providing guidance from ergonomic chair selection to complete furniture packages to outfit entire buildings and everything in between. An eye for detail, color and pattern selections, and affinity for repurposing existing materials are key to success.
