BAMSI Co-Occuring Disorder Counselor in Whitman, Massachusetts

General Statement of Duties: Provide individual counseling and case management services as needed, including intake assessments, treatment plans, periodic reviews and aftercare plans.

As a condition of employment, successful applicants will be required to have received COVID-19 vaccination as of their start date.

  • Provide individual counseling as needed.

  • Complete assessments, intakes, client schedules, treatment plans, periodic reviews and aftercare plans in timely fashion.

  • Provide accurate and timely documentation of services delivered, including case management service and group participation, as instructed by your supervisor.

  • Provide patient education relating to the illness of chemical dependency and the process of recovery.

  • Direct training groups and seminars and provide therapeutic leadership in group counseling sessions.

  • Participate in all staff meetings and staff supervision.

  • Contributes to the ongoing assessment and treatment planning process through participation in daily reports, case reviews, and treatment teams.

  • Maintain knowledge of community-based resources and complete referrals as needed.

  • Perform duties to reflect agency policies and procedures.

  • Perform other related work duties as needed or as assigned by supervisor or designee.

  • Execute duties to reflect reasonable safety standards. Standard/universal precautions must be utilized and training obtained in areas that constitute risk.

  • Current licensure by the state of Massachusetts as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC-I) or license eligible

  • Master’s or doctoral degree in behavioral science.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychology, Education, Counseling, Psychology, Rehabilitative Counseling or Social Work strongly preferred
