Newell Brands Yankee Candle Quality Assistant I - Saturday - Monday 6am-6pm in Whately, Massachusetts

General Purpose of Job:
Involvement in the entire course of manufacturing through inspection, verification audit, investigation, documentation, and communication. They inspect components upon receipt, and monitor/inspect/test finished goods. Communicate issues to the Quality and Manufacturing management.
Responsibilities :
Inspections, monitoring and documentation of product quality (incl. document creation and revision)
Data collection and reporting of issued burns
Raw material measurements and inspections
Ensure finished product are inspected, meet specifications and are approved
Responsible for Quality support/coverage on assigned manufacturing line and any assigned duties
Review work orders and batch records for finished products
Monitor the production line to ensure each line is following required SOP’s, work orders and product specifications. Quarantine products as necessary
Conduct production start-up and in-process inspection audits, incoming inspection of raw materials and finished goods
Reject all products and materials that fail to meet quality expectations
Participates in safety training. Properly uses and maintains personal protective equipment
Work independently while understanding the necessity to work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments
Qualifications :
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Able to handle difficult situations and complex group dynamics to keep things running smoothly
Good written and oral communication skills with management and co-workers
Must be able to work on a deadline in a fast-paced environment
Strong problem-solving skills
Basic math, computer and technical skills. Basic Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), Windchill and Oracle
Use of digital calipers, thermometers, Pantone color book and other inspection gauges
Ready to change and adapt to working in different situations and environments
