Eversource Energy Financial Analyst (Hybrid) in Westwood, Massachusetts

We’re looking for a highly motivated Financial Analyst that can work independently or minimal supervision and with accuracy. This critical role is responsible for analysis, research, evaluation, and preparation of reports in support of new business opportunities and strategic initiatives for regulated and unregulated subsidiaries or Eversource.

This is a hybrid role. The first three months are fulltime in the office.

Essential Functions

  • Assists and support in the preparation of financial schedules and exhibits in support of capital regulatory filings.
  • Support and assist in day-to-day efforts in the coordination and development of capital investments documentation requirements.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Capital Investment Compliance team members.
  • Provides and supports various ad-hoc financial analyses.
  • Ability to analyze and validate financial transaction within large data sets.
  • Maintain and support new technology automations via Power BI
  • Communicates results and their implications to management.
  • Identifies areas for automation and business process improvement.
  • Coordinates with business areas and provides information to management to ensure financial recovery cost are on target.
  • Works effectively with all levels of management to provide required regulatory support and assists in problem solving recommendations.

Qualifications

Technical Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of financial statements and financial management concepts
  • Understanding of utility regulatory concepts and requirements preferred
  • Knowledge of financial reporting, analysis, and financial management
  • Knowledge and experience in data management and financial systems preferred.

Skills:

  • Emerging financial acumen including a basic understanding of financial concepts
  • Strong detail orientation as well as the ability to be thorough and precise.
  • Ability to work effectively with various levels within the organization.
  • Emerging problem-solving skills.
  • Emerging ability to analyze data and information and extract relevant information.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to new situations.

  • Demonstrated skill with MS Office applications (specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Power BI

  • Initiative a personal ownership

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Master’s Degree preferred.

Experience :

  • Three (3) plus years in managing complex projects of a technical nature.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The annual salary range for this position is $82,000 - $92,000 plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with your experience. Check out the career site for an overview of benefits.
