The Red Hat Product Management team is looking for a Senior Product Manager to join us. In this role, you will help us build the next generation of high-availability, disaster recovery, and distributed multisite solutions. You’ll work across Red Hat's entire infrastructure portfolio, including our Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), container, and management offerings. Your goal will be to evaluate, develop, and integrate these options and the related solutions portfolio, based on sound and nuanced customer, market, and partner use cases. As a Senior Product Manager, you'll help define roadmaps, solutions integration and release planning, and go-to-market strategies while getting input from customers, analysts, the open source community, and internal stakeholders to promote the delivery of innovative solutions to the market. You’ll also define market problems to be solved, customer personas and use cases, and market-based requirements and solutions for enterprise-level offerings.
Primary job responsibilities
Responsible for the Red Hat OpenStack Platform deployment framework product management.
Evaluate, develop, and integrate deployment options based on sound and nuanced customer, market, and partner use cases.
Guide the strategy and delivery of Red Hat’s OpenStack Platform deployment tools and life cycle.
Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap and delivery plan in support of solving market and customer problems.
Guide the strategy and delivery of Red Hat OpenStack Platform deployment solution.
Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap and delivery plan in support of solving enterprise and telecommunications (Telco) market and customer problems.
Gather suite and solution use cases across multiple Red Hat offerings based on competitive analysis, customer interviews, and partner inputs.
Define and document market problems and opportunities and promote customer personas, user stories, and business cases as part of the specification of our offerings and the socialization process.
Collaborate with other Red Hat infrastructure portfolio product managers to coordinate their roadmaps to ensure suite and solution success.
Collaborate with the Product Engineering team to determine solutions priorities, plan releases of our offerings, and maintain related roadmaps.
Work closely with the Product Marketing team to develop positioning and go-to-market strategies; serve as an evangelist to inform and educate the user community.
Maintain solid relationships and stay in regular communication with Sales, Professional Services, Quality Engineering, Documentation, and Customer Support teams.
Present Red Hat OpenStack deployment roadmap and strategy in industry and Open-Source community events.
Bachelor’s degree (US or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field.
Five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role.
Must have three (3) years of experience with: product/project management; gathering and addressing client and business partner requirements; user experience (UX) and production of wireframes to express user workflows; enterprise cloud technologies, including public, private, and hybrid; large successful open source community with extensive contribution and proven leadership role within the community; leading open source software delivery in global, virtual and agile teams with ability to influence others without having direct authority over them; presenting of product/project updates in open source events.
Must have two (2) years of experience with: deployment and management technologies of OpenStack, including TripleO, Ironic, Heat and Kolla open source projects.
Must have at least one (1) year of experience with: Gathering and addressing client and business partner requirements in Telco industry and their NFV infrastructure requirements; Docker, Kubernetes, and Ansible technologies for containers deployments.
Must have demonstrated experience completing a successful product delivery of at least one major open source software product in the virtualization and cloud market.
Travel required up to 25%. All travel will be reimbursed by Red Hat.
