The Red Hat Central Continuous Integration (CI) and Tooling team is looking for a Principal Quality Engineer to join us in Westford, MA. In this role, you will help us maintain our exceptional quality standards while developing complex tools using a multitude of technologies, including cloud, virtualization, and configuration management. You'll be responsible for supporting a large community of developers and quality engineers. As a Principal Quality Engineer, you will also develop software to promote system integration. This is a great opportunity to work alongside some of the brightest engineers in open source.
Primary job responsibilities
Design, enhance, and maintain tools for the Central CI and Tooling team according to relevant needs
Stay in continuous communication with internal customers, including progress reports
Serve as a point of contact for other team members and help guide them to effectively resolve issues with tooling
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on Red Hat’s continuous productization efforts
Maintain updated technical documentation, e.g., environment diagrams, workflows, and processes
Linux experience on power user or system administrator level
System understanding and problem-solving skills
Experience developing software with with Python or Java
7-9 years of relevant experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
Solid innovation skills and passion for technology
Ability to work on your own in a fast-paced environment
Written and verbal communication skills; fluent language skills in English
Ability to build solid relations in the team and encourage other team members to do the same; ability to lead by example
Experience with Jenkins, Docker, Red Hat Ansible Automation, Git, ELK, Red Hat OpenStack Platform, virtual machine (VM) platform management using tools like Red Hat Virtualization, VMware, or Xen, Amazon Web Services (AWS), networking, firewall, or comparable technologies is a plus
