Efficiently set-up and operate waxer equipment in accordance with manufacturing order (MO), Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and the production schedule. Compliance with company operating, safety and housekeeping procedures, practices and policies. GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1 waxer operator for evenings (3 pm - 11 pm) 3 waxer operators for midnights (11 pm - 7 am). ? Operate Printing/Wax Equipment o Set-up, operate, and adjust printing and/or wax coating equipment to a manufacturing order (MO), Standard Operating Conditions (SOC), and to production schedule requirements. ? Inspect for Quality o Inspect/test product for basis weight, appearance, print quality, color match, and other requirements to ensure products meet customer quality specifications. ? Understand Production and Safety Requirements o Understand and interpret production requirements by manufacturing order (MO) as well as written and verbal instructions. Understand safety requirements outlined in monthly safety reviews as well as outlined in the Job Hazard Analysis (JHA). ? Calculations o Preform routine calculations to determine the amount of wax and ink required for manufacturing order (MO). ? Maintains Inventory o Performs routine cycle counts of ink and wax and notifies supervisor of major discrepancies. ? Perform Production Maintenance o Preforms routine production maintenance activities such as filling wax tanks, filling ink fountains, determining supplies required, and utilizing measuring devices for various activities. ? Direct Laborer FLSA Status: Full-Time Non-Exempt Reporting Manager: Production Supervisor o Organizes work area in a clean and efficient manner to preform processes according to established standards, productivity levels, housekeeping, and safety requirements. ? Troubleshooting o Inform supervisor of operating deviations or mechanical problems when they occur. ? Additional Duties o Preforms additional duties as required by supervisor and management team. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: ? High school or trade school graduate or equivalent GED. Basic reading and mathematics skills. ? Able to read and understand documents, to include (but not limited to) manufacturing orders (MO), job hazard analysis (JHA) and quality alerts. ? Able to work within the physical limits of the job. Job includes standing most of shift and may require lifting heavy materials over 50 pounds. Work conditions also include sharp tools, rotating equipment, lifting machine shafts, and adjusting heavy rolls of paper. Duties require continuous mental and visual attention to ensure proper print quality and machine operation. ? Strong communication skills in a team assisted environment. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: ? 2+ years of manufacturing experience with flexographic experience.
