Amergis RN - Quality Improvement in Westfield, Massachusetts

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Quality Improvement Coordinator responsible for analyzing, developing, monitoring and implementing clinical initiatives to achieve healthy outcomes as well as improving patient experience.

Details of the position include:

Location: Westfield, MA

Duration: 10 weeks to start (This is to cover a leave but may go longer. If not, the facility will try finding a placement elsewhere within their facility)

Facility Type: LTAC Hospital

Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8a-4:30p

Salary - $70/hr local and $3,500 gross/week travel

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

  • Collects and compiles data on the Joint Commission’s prescriptive measures and others as appropriate in a timely manner. Participates in/facilitates Joint Commission survey preparedness activities.

  • Collects and collates data on Physician related indicators for use in the Medical Staff credentialing process and the OPPE and FPPE as required.

  • Revies on a daily basis the 24 hour report and notifies the DQI of occurrences requiring attention and enters data int the PCA and Rapid Response database.

  • Collects and inputs data required for incident report system.

  • Investigates patient/family complaints and grievances, responds to grievances within 14 days.

  • Provides back up to the DQI by completing PCA and Rapid Responses investigation reports and prepares reports for the governing body, BORM and Health Care Quality.

  • Prepare and present preadmission abstract summaries. Review and levels preadmission abstracts when requested using established and approved criteria for utilization review.

  • Collects records and monitors information on a weekly basis when the patient is at an acute Level of Care (LOC) for changes in status.

  • Reviews all patients for continued hospital stay.

  • Managed care patients are reviewed as requested by the insurer.

  • Provides staff support for and participates in Performance Improvement, root cause analysis and failure mode effects analysis teams.

  • Provides back up to infection control.

  • Provides education as appropriate.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Applicant must have at least (A) one year of full time or equivalent part time experience as an RN in a recognized hospital, clinic or medical facility, and (B) six months of which must have been in a supervisory, administrative or managerial capacity.

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Quality Assessment activities and familiarity with preparing compliance reports.
