Amazon Software Technical Program Manager, Product Development, Amazon Robotics METEOR in Westborough, Massachusetts

As a Software Technical Program Manager on the Amazon Robotics METEOR team, you will be part of an exciting, diverse team that is responsible for integrating already built capabilities for prototyping new workcells and process paths at Amazon. You will be part of an inter-disciplinary team comprised of System development Engineers, Quality Engineers and Software Engineers. You will collaborate cross-functionally to develop pioneering applications in a highly exciting and innovative environment.

As the METEOR Software TPM, you are a key leader at the center the development and integration of many workcells. You will be responsible for the optimization of this product in the field, external stakeholder updates and communication, triaging and prioritizing requests for the team. Someone who will be successful in this role:

  • Able to chart forward course through ambiguity, working from a problem statement versus a provided solution.

  • Comfortable in both software and hardware engineering deep dives.

  • Has experience in strong stakeholder management and priority setting

Key job responsibilities

  • Communicate status regularly to cross-functional teams and org leaders (metrics, trends, open actions)

  • Own and manage external stakeholder communication and deliverables, including key solution dependencies

  • Drive improvements to product performance by delivering monitoring solutions for the product’s key metrics, including redefining current metrics that no longer represent the product’s performance

  • Drive root causing activities around performance dips, while working with software and hardware engineers, scientists, quality groups and operations customer teams

About the team

Within Amazon Robotics, the METEOR team focuses on building prototype workcells that incorporate many of the services from other teams and develop the workflows that support the business. Our systems are scalable and customer obsessed, ensuring that we deliver systems that positively impact the end customer. We strive to remove additional work for our end users, and introduce simplicity to their work, giving them back time to focus on tasks that are more suited for the human touch.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Westborough, MA, USA

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

  • Experience building and evaluating system-level technical design

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
