Primary Purpose

The Procurement Manager is responsible for leading and managing a team of regional and corporate buyers, ensuring the efficient and cost-effective procurement of goods and services. This role involves influencing procurement policies, overseeing the purchase order (PO) process through Concur, and actively contributing to process improvements within the region. The Procurement Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to streamline operations, negotiate local-level purchases, and maintain vendor relationships to meet organizational goals.

Essential Functions

  • Supervise and guide a team of regional and corporate buyers, providing leadership, coaching, and support to ensure alignment with organizational goals.

  • Play a pivotal role in shaping and influencing procurement policies and procedures, ensuring they align with industry best practices and the company's objectives.

  • Oversee the end-to-end purchase order (PO) process, including creation, approval, and tracking, using Concur or the designated procurement system.

  • Review and approve purchase orders for the region, ensuring they comply with established thresholds and procurement guidelines.

  • Collaborate with Category Managers (CMs) to align on the approval of new vendors, assessing their suitability for the organization's needs.

  • Lead negotiations for local-level purchases, securing favorable terms, pricing, and conditions for the organization.

  • Ensure the timely confirmation of two-way receipts for goods and services, verifying that deliveries meet the specified criteria.

  • Continuously analyze regional procurement processes, identifying opportunities for improvement in terms of efficiency, cost reduction, and compliance.

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with vendors to optimize supplier performance and resolve any issues that may arise.

  • Monitor and enforce procurement compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies. Generate reports to track procurement KPIs and performance.

  • Assist in managing the procurement budget, ensuring that spending remains within approved limits.

  • Collaborate with various departments, such as Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations, to align procurement strategies with broader business objectives.

  • Provide training and development opportunities for the purchasing team, keeping them updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.

  • Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION

Min/Preferred Education Level Description

Preferred 4 Year / Bachelors Degree Supply Chaim Management, Business Administration, or related field

EXPERIENCE

5 strategic sourcing, procurement, or operational purchasing

2 in a leadership role with direct reports

ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, policies, and best practices.

  • Proficiency in using procurement software, such as Concur, SAP, or Oracle.

  • Exceptional negotiation and vendor management skills.

  • Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify process improvements.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.

  • Effective communication and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.

  • Certification in procurement (e.g., CPM, CPIM, CSCP) is a plus.
