Westborough Behavioral Healthcare Hospital Insurance Verification Coordinator in Westborough, Massachusetts

The Insurance Verification Coordinator is responsible for validating and entering patient information and insurance coverage into the appropriate computer system. Duties may also include communicating with physician offices, insurance carriers, and patient follow-ups. This position will also be responsible for keying in Provider billing information into an external portal based on insurance

Obtain and verify patient insurance coverage and follow guidelines established by insurers. Verify insurance information for new patients and referrals§ Using web-based applications and working daily reports for admission, confirm eligibility and coverage as well as plan type, PCC, PCP, and coverage effective dates utilizing on-line tools to update patients in the registration system May need to discuss financial responsibilities with patients information.

Requirements

Education and/or Licensure – High School degree or equivalent required.

Experience – A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a healthcare environment required

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

§ Ability to accurately enter data, prepare and maintain records, files, and reports

§ Outstanding skills in giving attention to details with display of dexterity in maintaining confidentiality

§ Must have advanced PC skills that include a combination of working in a Windows Operating System and Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
