Robert Half Accounting Manager in Westborough, Massachusetts

Description

Our client, a well-known, national brand is looking for an Accounting manager with strong budget experience. The Accounting manager will manage a 4 person team, and will have full responsibility for the monthly close process and P& L generation. The Accounting Manager will report directly to a CFO with exposure to all levels of senior management. A CPA or some public accounting experience is desired, but not mandatory. Previous experience within the manufacturing, consulting, engineering or construction industries is a big plus.

The ideal candidate will have an accounting degree, CPA or MBA, strong GL, and forecasting experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a team of 4 individuals, ensuring efficient and accurate financial operations

• Manage the full responsibility of the monthly close process

• Generate profit and loss statements and present them to the senior management

• Apply your knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) in daily operations

• Conduct regular auditing to ensure compliance and accuracy

• Utilize your skills in budget processes to manage and allocate resources effectively

• Monitor Work In Progress (WIP) accounts and take necessary actions

• Maintain the General Ledger, ensuring its accuracy and completeness

• Implement project accounting techniques in managing financial projects

• Make use of your forecasting experience to predict and plan for future expenses.

Requirements • Demonstrated proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Proven experience in auditing practices

• Strong knowledge of budget processes

• Familiarity with WIP - Work In Progress

• Ability to manage and maintain the general ledger

• Experience in handling monthly close processes

• Proficiency in project accounting within the real estate development industry

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field

• Relevant certifications, such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), would be advantageous

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and accounting software.
