The Enterprise Analytics team transforms data into actionable insights and is “at the table” collaborating with business leaders to drive innovation, strategy and business outcomes.

Director of Engagement Analytics and Member Insights

The Director of Engagement Analytics and Member Insights will support the Membership pillar of the Enterprise Analytics Team. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Membership Analytics and Data Science, we are looking for a thought partner who will take a data-driven approach to drive membership insights and action that will improve member engagement, shopping, retention, and growth. In addition, this role will be responsible for providing member insights to senior leaders in Enterprise Analytics, Membership as well as the Executive Leadership to help guide decision making.

Job responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Partner with Membership leadership, by bringing a data driven perspective grounded in loyalty economics, to the development BJ’s engagement and loyalty strategies across all channels

  • Provide ad hoc analytic support to drive data driven decision making and strategy across the membership, engagement, loyalty, CRM and member insight space

  • Be a thought partner in the creation of our engagement and personalization testing plans and provide “next level” insights related to the measurement of tests

  • Be relentless in the pursuit of value-add insights through the utilization of an “answer first” (scientific method) approach to analytics

  • Communicate results of analysis in a thoughtful, concise manner via “high impact” emails and PowerPoint presentations directly to senior leadership (SVP to CEO)

  • Champion the incorporation of loyalty economics in our decision making and analytics

  • Collaborate with BJ’s Data Science Team in the delivery of models/solutions which align with BJ’s strategic goals

  • Support Marketing in executing and measuring brand marketing campaigns

  • Support Merchants by providing membership insights to drive decisions

  • Provide ad hoc membership insight support to other groups inclusive of the C-suite

  • Manage, coach and develop a Team of analysts responsible for engagement analytics and member insights

    Job Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in marketing analytics inclusive of 5+ years of management experience; retail industry or consultancy experience a plus

  • Strong financial and analytical acumen to make strategic recommendations

  • Ability to think critically in order to drive business decisions with the use of data and analytics

  • Understanding of the application of statistics/ML modeling in marketing analytics and measurement

  • Strong communication skills resulting in the ability to translate complex analyses to non-technical audiences

  • Working knowledge of visual analytics platforms such as Tableau

  • Digital/CRM Analytics experience a plus

  • Expertise with at least one data/analytics programming language (e.g. SQL/SAS/R/Python) a plus

  • Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Economics, Marketing, Mathematics or related field; Graduate/MBA degree preferred
