SKILLED LABORER-WATER-GRADE 5 PAY Salary - \$21.38 - \$23.51 Hourly Job Type - Full time Job Number - 00241 Department - Public Works Division - Water The Skilled Laborer performs manual work at the journeyman level in connection with Public Works Applications and maintenance projects; does related work as required. Examples of Duties Involves all aspects of the drinking water system in regards to water main construction, maintenance, and repairs. The drinking water systems include installing and maintenance of water services, water mains, service taps of various sizes, fire hydrants, and gate box/valves. Various duties include working with other divisions and departments for the benefit of the Town infrastructure and maintenance. Qualifications Work requires high school graduation or equivalent plus two years? experience in Public Works construction or maintenance work or any equivalent combination of education and experience required to perform the essential functions of this position. Must have general knowledge of methods, procedures, equipment and materials relating to a variety of water system construction and maintenance tasks. Ability to lift heavy materials and to carry assigned work to completion. Possession of a valid Massachusetts driver?s license required. CDL and hoisting license preferred Possession of a Drinking Water Supply Facilities Certified Grade D1 (OIT) Operator issued by the Massachusetts Division of Professional Licensure within 1 (one) year of employment. With a Full - Drinking Water Supply Facilities Certified Grade D1 Operator issued by the Massachusetts Division of Professional Licensure in 2 (two) years. And / or: Possession of a Drinking Water Supply Facilities Certified Grade T1 (OIT) Operator issued by the Massachusetts Division of Professional Licensure within 1 (one) year of employment. With a Full - Drinking Water Supply Facilities Certified Grade T1 Operator issued by the Massachusetts Division of Professional Licensure in 2 (two) years. Attendance history will be considered.
