MANUFACTURING INSTRUCTOR - MACHINE TECHNOLOGY Job Description OCCUPATIONAL INSTRUCTOR ? MACHINE TECHNOLOGY The Lower Pioneer Valley Educational Collaborative (LPVEC) is looking for an immediate full time opening for the 2024-2025 school year. Under the direction of the Director of Occupational Education the following outline of the roles and responsibilities is intended to provide a broad overview, but is subject to change according to the needs of LPVEC, as required by the Executive Director. The is an outline and summary of the duties to be performed by personnel. In each instance, it is expected that employees will perform whatever duties are necessary to carry out the Collaborative\'s educational functions, as indicated by the Executive Director or Board of Directors. 1)To provide all instruction and training necessary to guarantee the quantity and quality of learning experiences to qualify students for placement in entry level positions in a related field. 2)Based from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Vocational Technical Education Frameworks to develop and implement a curriculum scope and sequence to teach the prescribed course of study. 3)To remain current on specific job entry skill requirements and evolving technologies in the industry through appropriate professional development activities. 4)To develop and maintain course syllabi, develop lesson plans and participate in competency-based curriculum development to ensure the highest levels of student learning. 5)To work to engage and encourage students while respecting individual abilities and progress during individual and group instruction and remain current on specific job entry skill requirements and evolving technologies in the industry through appropriate professional development activities. 6)To establish safety procedures for the program and provide supervision to all students to ensure they safely and effectively operate the wide range of tools and equipment. 7)To assist and participate in recruitment, exploratory and public relations activities which promote career-technical education and to maintain an active and vigorous program advisory committee composed of local industry, business, community, parent, student and member school representatives. 8)To support the Cooperative Education Coordinator in identifying appropriate cooperative work sites and potential student placement opportunities REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Certification as a Massachusetts Chapter 74 Occupational Instructor in Machine Technology or closely related field. High School diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 3 years of career and technical experience in the field, with teaching experience in a secondary or post-secondary school preferred. To maintain Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education Educator\'s license by fulfilling all renewal requirements through professional development or professional growth activities. Demonstrated ability to professionally interact with students, parents, teachers and school administrators and staff. Demonstrated ability to professionally interact with related business, industry, and public agency personnel At least 3 year(s) of relevant experience preferred. High School/Trade School degree preferred.
