Health Occupational Instructor - LPVEC Job ID:4795591 Starting Date:Immediately Job Description We have an immediate opening for a full time (school year calendar) Health Instructor. We are a Chapter 74 Occupational Instructors which will require a RN license. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: (Other duties may be assigned) 1.To provide all instruction and training necessary to guarantee the quantity and quality of learning experiences to qualify students for placement in entry level positions in a related field. 2.Regular and punctual attendance. 3.To be present at assigned workstation (bus duty, hall duty, etc.) at designated time. 4.To distribute, collect and submit all required paperwork for students and teachers in a timely manner. 5.With the aid of the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Vocational Technical Education Frameworks, advice from industry and the advisory board, develop and implement a curriculum scope and sequence to teach the prescribed course of study. 6.To develop and maintain course syllabi. 7.To develop lesson plans and participate in competency-based curriculum development to ensure the highest levels of student learning. 8.To work to engage and encourage students while respecting individual abilities and progress during individual and group instruction. 9.To identify student needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve health, attitude and learning problems. 10.To organize class time as preparation, instruction, shop work, and clean-up activities within allotted time. 11.To evaluate student progress on a regular basis by maintaining appropriate cumulative records (grades, competency tracking, portfolio, etc.) on all program students. 12.To serve as a role model for students and staff in demonstrating positive attitude, appropriate attire and grooming, and an effective work ethic. 13.To participate in staff meetings and professional development activities and to be responsible for attending other meetings which might be called after school hours by the Principal/Director and/or the Executive Director. 14.To establish safety procedures for the program and provide supervision to all students to ensure they safely and effectively operate the wide range of tools and equipment. 15.To assist and participate in recruitment, exploratory and public relations activities which promote career-technical education. 16.To establish and maintain an active and vigorous program advisory committee composed of local industry, business, community, parent, student and member school representatives. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1.Certification as a Massachusetts Chapter 74 Occupational Instructor in Health Assisting or closely related field. 2.Bachelor\'s Degree or higher degree related to the subject matter and skills to be taught. 3.Possession of current Massachusetts license as a Registered Nurse. 4.Minimum of 3 years of career and technical experience in the field, with teaching experience in a secondary or post-secondary school preferred. 5.To maintain Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education Educator\'s license by fulfilling all renewal requirements through professional development or professional growth activities. 6.Demonstrated ability to professionally interact with students, parents, teachers and school administrators and staff. 7.Demonstrated ability to professionally interact with related business, industry, and public agency personnel 8.Alternatives to the above as the Board of Directors may find appropriate and acceptable. At least 3 year(s) of relevant experience preferred. Bachelor degree preferred.
