Butter Operator POSITION SUMMARY Operate butter packaging equipment in an efficient and sanitary manner. Follow and understand butter production schedule and maintain butter facility in a sanitary manner, including Clean-in-Place (CIP) washing of equipment and cleaning of walls, floors and ceilings. Restock butter packaging materials to meet production and maintain materials in an appropriate, orderly fashion. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Operate, understand and troubleshoot butter packaging equipment such as bulk packer, SIGs, Benhils and case packaging equipment. - Adjust weights on packaging machines to meet required specifications. - Understand and follows the butter production schedule. - Operate and set printers to ensure that U.S.D.A.# and ?Sell By? dates are correct. -- Ensure that proper packaging is used for each production item. -Complete and record necessary information on proper logs, verifying that all required documents are filled out properly and are accurate in accordance with Safety and SQF procedures. Write neatly. - Determines when supplies are needed and restock for the following shift. Maintain supplies in an appropriate and orderly fashion. - Coordinate production with warehouse operators to ensure lot integrity. - Clean butter machinery, floors, walls, ceilings and other environmental areas. - Perform other Butter Room duties such as decartoning bulk butter, operating and feeding microfix machine, melting of rework butter, removal of trash, painting, preventive maintenance, etc. - Schedule flexibility, willingness to work overtime, weekends, holiday and rotate shift, as required. At times overtime, weekend work, holiday work and shift rotation will be mandatory. - Adhere to Company rules, regulations and core values, including Code of Conduct. - Perform all tasks using Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), following the Food Safety and Food Quality requirements of the SQF Program. This includes the requirement to report all safety issues and incidents to a supervisor, or other member of the leadership team, immediately. - Maintain GMPs and operate all equipment in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). - Work safely and efficiently, following all safety requirements including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and lock-out/tag-out procedures. - Perform all other duties, as assigned. Ability to grow and support a team environment. - Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. - Ethics \| Treat people with respect, keeps commitments, inspires the trust of others, work with integrity and ethically and uphold organizational values. QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS - Minimum high school diploma, GED/HiSET. - Experience operating machinery in a manufacturing environment is preferred, in the food industry would be a plus. - Experience with manufacturing safety requirements, lock-out/tag-out preferred.
