Assistant Director of Finance Job Details Job ID:4631642 Application Deadline:Posted until filled Starting Date:Jul 1, 2024 Job Description We are looking for a full time Assistant Director of Finance. The Assistant Director of Finance will assist with the day to day operations of the business office and key financial operations. Job Requirements Minimum Qualifications: 1.Bachelor\'s Degree in accounting or business-related field and a minimum of five (5) years of related work experience. 2.Minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated experience in government fund accounting, school-municipal finance, computerized financial management systems, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, grant management, and public purchasing. 3.Advanced skills with standard computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 4.Experience with Tyler Technologies Enterprise ERP (Munis) or similar applications is highly desirable. 5.Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team. Able to work hours as workload dictates. 6.Such alternatives to the above as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. Essential Job Functions: 1.The Assistant Director of Finance shall assist the Director of Finance & Operations with the day-to-day management of the collaborative?s financial operations. 2.Assists in fiscal modeling, trend analysis, forecasting, data collection, and projection for annual budget development and management and other fiscal matters. 3.Reviews bi-weekly payroll and files the Federal and State tax deposits. Reconciles and prepares the quarterly 941 tax returns. 4.Assists in the collection, safekeeping, reconciliation, and distribution of all funds, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, warrant review and delivery, and general ledger with accompanying journals. 5.Records details of the financial activities in journals and sub-ledgers from original sources; reconciles accounts/individual ledgers; and, when necessary, makes corrections in the accounting system. 6.Makes recommendations for accounting policies and procedures to keep the financials in compliance with state and federal rules, regulations, guidelines, and generally accepted accounting principles and standards. 7.Manages grant activity and financial reimbursements. Maintain and compile supporting grant materials in accordance with guidelines. 8.Reconciles and files State and Federal reports, including MTRS and State retirement. 9.Serves as the payroll backup for the Payroll and Benefits Coordinator in their absence. 10.Maintain and reconcile petty cash account activity and student account activity. 11.Assists the external auditors in the performance of fiscal and /or compliance audits. 12.Researches and answers inquiries from various constituents regarding financial activities, leases, and general accounting activities. 13.Attends conferences, seminars, and workshops as required by the Director of Finance & Operations to sustain continual learning and professional development. 14.Contributes to office cross-training efforts to maintain continuity and quality of service for internal and external customers. 15.Performs any additional general office duties as determined by the Director of Finance & Operations. 16.Perform other duties as required by the Director of Finance & Operations.
