Job Summary

Provide supervision, performance development and evaluation to all levels of staff in the Statistical Department. This includes, but is not limited to, monitoring workflow and staffing to:

  • Provide timely, accurate and efficient maintenance and reporting of MAPFRE’s statistical data to statistical bureaus and regulatory agencies.

  • Ensure all Data Calls requiring statistical input are completed in a timely way, using acquired software skills to minimize IT involvement.

  • Ensure Statistical is represented in Projects and Product filings to evaluate potential statistical reporting impacts.

  • Provide staff with the guidance, training and support needed for them to effectively perform their assigned tasks, commensurate with their individual skill levels and abilities.

  • Support MAPFRE’s on-going strategic initiatives by working with management and staff to identify areas where the Statistical Department can be key contributors to these efforts.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Education: Bachelor's Degree or professional level of knowledge in a specialized field, or equivalent related experience preferred.

Experience: 4 - 6 years or Associates Degree equivalent plus 6 - 8 years.

Knowledge: General knowledge of industry, practices, standards, and concepts within related operations and field of work. Familiarity with management practices.

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Evaluate current statistical reporting processes to identify opportunities for efficiency gains, including leveraging existing company data sources and software skills to minimize IT involvement in data production, balancing, and root-cause analysis of variances. Recommend areas where efficiencies can be realized through automation, additional tools, workflow management, or staff realignment.

  • Administer all Company data call requests, ensuring responsiveness and timely submission.

  • Ensure Statistical Reporting is represented in all company projects, enhancements, and incidents. Analyze the potential impact to Statistical Reporting processes and contribute to the development of business requirements.
