Job Description

The Material Planner I will use standard methodologies for component inventory utilization and coordinates the short to medium term planning horizon for their assigned products. This position generates and issues direct and indirect component requisitions to feed the site’s strategic packaging inventory to ensure smooth flow of repack production and distribution.

Location: 220 Neck Road, Ward Hill, MA

Hours: Standard Day Shift – 8AM – 5PM

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with Purchasing Department to plan and order packaging supplies within lead time, balancing available onsite and offsite space as well as mitigating risk of stock outs.

  • Compiles twice daily distribution of packaging supplies through the site.

  • Organizes incoming shipments of supplies in the packaging storage locations.

  • Performs and conducts quarterly physical inventory counts of packaging and supplies.

  • Implements mobile scanning and traceability for packaging supplies and monitors for ongoing sustainability.

  • Proactively works with production to expedite requests for packaging as required and communicate any delays that will affect production requirements.

  • Collaborates with sales for component utilization and future requirements.

  • Maintains accurate Bill of Material data for all site products.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school degree or GED is required.

  • 4 years of manufacturing/planning experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Excel (filtering/pivot tables) and willing to learn additional Excel functionality to boost productivity and effectiveness.

  • Must be computer literate and have working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.

  • Fluency in English for written and verbal communication.

  • Certified in power equipment (pallet jacks, lift machines) preferred.

  • Ability to interact and collaborate with colleagues from different departments and different professional levels with ease.

Work Conditions:

  • Required to wear ASTM F 2413-05 (or ANSI Z41-1999) safety shoes, safety glasses, lab coat, and gloves while working in the warehouse.

  • Ability to handling hazardous and toxic materials through the repackaging process. Shelly Road and Bond Street are the primary sites where highly hazardous chemicals are stored.

  • Familiarity with AS-400 preferred.

  • This position will require some heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs., heavier weights with assistance).
