National Grid US Director, UK Senior Manager, Strategy Development in Waltham, Massachusetts

This requires us to deliver on our promises and always look for new opportunities to grow, both ourselves and our business. ## Job Purpose To lead the activation of the company's “Future of Heat” strategy via developing strategic plans and roadmaps to ensure that the right processes, activities, and capabilities are pursued. To work closely with Strategy & External Affairs teams generating corporate, regulatory, policy and external influence strategies and with teams across Customer, Gas Engineering & Asset Management, etc. to solicit input and ensure alignment an execution against “Future of Heat” strategic plans/roadmaps. ## Key Accountabilities + Develop holistic ‘thought leadership’ for future of gas that integrates strategy, policy, strategy execution priorities and activities, and 'net zero' plan + Create roadmap(s) for strategy execution and drive alignment and accountability across teams responsible for execution (e.g., new pilots/programs, RD&D, and investment planning) + Provide technology and market insights to shape strategy execution plans and set innovation priorities + Lead industry engagement on 'future of heat' strategy activation + Set policy/regulatory priorities needed for strategy activation + Create ‘Net Zero’ plan and KPIs for gas distribution ## Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required + Manage projects and lead cross-functional teams + Engage with and influence internal and external stakeholders + Communicate effectively across the organization, including with senior leadership ## Qualifications + Bachelor’s degree required; Master's or advanced degree preferred + 7+ years of relevant work experience + Demonstrated 'thought leadership' on decarbonization pathways, clean energy policies, demand-side management, low-carbon gas, heat electrification, and/or innovative regulatory frameworks + Experience with strategy development and execution and cross-functional influence and leadership (e.g., strategic planning, roadmap development) ## More Information This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.
