Senior Manager Strategy and Strategic Program Management (NY/MD)

Reporting to the Sr. Director Strategy and Market Development this role is part of the

Biologicals and Chemicals Division (BCD). The successful candidate will demonstrate outstanding facilitation, interpersonal, communication, analytical and influencing skills.

Location/Division: Role is an on-site/ hybrid role located in our facility in Grand Island NY, Hunt Valley, MD (or another Thermo Fisher site)

What will you do?

Strategy Development and Deployment

  • Set and communicate priorities

  • Use business systems to deploy and manage critical initiatives

  • Build processes to evaluate/improve performance

  • Partner with team members to achieve goals

  • Contribute to the division's planning process

Business Development

  • Lead cross functional teams as an individual contributor to evaluate/analyze new opportunities from customers/commercial/product management (return on investment, market research, business case development)

  • Strengthen strategies to increase presence globally

  • Identify emerging trends and develop plans to address

Opportunity Analysis and Execution

  • Inorganic opportunities

  • Business partnerships and alliances

  • Competitive and market analysis for key strategic and M&A diligence projects

Strategic Program Management

  • Sophisticated business relationship management

  • Program and Project Management supporting BCD and encompassing businesses

How will you get here?

  • BS/BA required, major in business or technical field preferred. MBA or advanced degree a plus.

  • 5+ years of experience in a multi-level organization preferred, including working with and supporting global teams, and collaborating with executive level leads.

  • 5+ years in life sciences, bioprocessing or pharmaceutical manufacturing a plus.

  • Experience with financial planning and analysis and root cause analysis is preferred.

  • Experience with data warehousing and CRM tools required; Saleforce.com, and Power BI reporting tools desired.

  • Microsoft Office skills required.

  • Up to 25% travel

  • PMP certification a plus or multiple years of combined experience in project management leading highly matrixed teams

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in Maryland is $130,000.00–$195,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
