Overview:
In this role of Senior Counsel, Investigations Lead you will drive various aspects of planning and execution of Life Sciences Operating Companies’ Compliance program, especially leading and managing internal investigations and a development path to assist with Compliance training, Compliance risk assessments, and Compliance auditing & monitoring.

Your responsibilities as Senior Compliance Counsel include:
Investigations Leadership: Be the lead investigator on complex, global internal investigations, working in partnership with other counsel, driving data collection and analysis, reviewing documents, preparing interview outlines, conducting interviews, completing investigation reports, and holding readout calls working closely with HR, Legal, and management.
Investigations Management: Be responsible for managing a docket of 30-50 matters at a time, leading other internal investigators including HR in a matrix environment, driving investigation metrics, conducting training, analyzing Speak Up! (Danaher’s Disclosure Program) and investigation trends, and preparing metrics and reports delivered to senior management.
Training: Work with Legal & Compliance Department senior management to identify subject matter areas where training is required, creating training decks, scripts, and related programs for delivery to a global or targeted audience.
Special Compliance Projects: Assist with development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Legal & Compliance programs, policies, and procedures, including Antibribery and Corruption Audit & Monitoring and Risk Assessment.
We are looking for a professional who is:
Able to effectively multitask, manage a docket of global matters, and can adapt to change and re-prioritize tasks and/or projects on short notice.
Experienced in creating and managing online and in-person training programs.
Experienced in analyzing data to observe and present in charts/presentations trend analysis.
Able to connect with associates across all levels of the organization, and drive completion of internal investigations in a matrix environment.
Effective communicator, including strong writing skills.
Organized, detail oriented, analytical, creative, and collaborative.
Able to work in a global environment with associates from around the globe.
Your Education and Background Experience will include:
Juris Doctorate (J.D.) with at least 7 years of in-house or law firm investigation experience.
At least 7 years’ experience working with attorneys in a fast-paced, demanding legal or Compliance department or equivalent environment.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing other associates.
At least 5 years of writing and editing experience in a global business environment.
Key Skills and Attributes for the role:
Healthcare compliance and/or anti-bribery and anti-corruption subject matter expertise or similar experience in a highly regulated industry is preferred.
Experience designing and implementing effective compliance programs per the U.S. DOJ Sentencing Guidelines and DOJ's Guidance on the Evaluation of Corporate Compliance Programs, and/or the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Inspector General's Guidance for Pharmaceutical Manufacturers ("the Seven Elements of an Effective Compliance Program") is preferred.
Experience working with LMS technologies are a plus.
Experience interacting with all levels of management, including senior leadership.
Ability to navigate complex issues in a matrixed environment.
Detailed knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
Policy writing experience, solid understanding of SharePoint and EthicsPoint (a Navex platform) are preferred.
The salary range for this role ($104,000 - $160,000) is min-mid range. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Colorado . This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for 15% bonus/incentive pay.
