Role and Responsibility
Design and execute preclinical research strategies to evaluate the vaccine candidate immunogenicity, reactogenicity, efficacy and mechanism of action using various primary cell cultures and animal studies including mice and NHPs
Critically analyze, interpret, and report experimental results; draw appropriate conclusions and design next steps
Present results and strategies within the department, externally, and to internal governance committees as required.
Provide expertise in immunology and mRNA technology to internal project teams and committees as scientific functional lead
Ensure that the group maintains current awareness in area of expertise, enhance the scientific credibility
Contribute to the writing of protocols, reports, and other documents when appropriate
Should be able to manage time effectively to perform multiple projects at one time
Desire to work in a fast-paced environment
Excellent organizational and communication skills and carry strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Supervise Associate Scientist(s) and/or Research Associate(s) as needed
Qualifications/ Education & work experience
Ph.D. or MSc in immunology or related field. 2-3 years of experience is desirable.
Independence in experimental design and execution, data analysis, interpretation, and presentation of in vitro/in vivo study analysis of immune responses
Proficiency with multiple cutting-edge technologies to assess immune cell function including, but not limited to, cell imaging, ELISA/ELISOPT, cytotoxicity assays, multi-parameter flow cytometry, Luminex technologies
Desirable skills include MSD, HAI, Microneutralization, automation of liquid handling systems
Proficiency in performing functional antibody assays for viral vaccine
Ability to be self-motivated and accomplish job tasks with little supervision
