Job Title: Manager, Training and Sales Enablement – Cell Culture and Cell Therapy (CCCT)

Location: Grand Island, NY; Hunt Valley, MD; Waltham, MA

Position Summary:

The Manager, Training and Sales Enablement will play a critical role in enhancing the capabilities of our commercial teams by developing and delivering technical and sales training programs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of technical knowledge, sales acumen, and experience in adult learning principles. This role will be key to ensuring that our Field Application Scientists (FAS), Technical Sales Specialists (TSS), and Bioproduction Account Managers (BAM) are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and tools needed to understand customer needs, position Cell Culture and Cell Therapy (CCCT) solutions effectively, and win business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner closely with Product Management, Marketing, Sales, Field Applications and HR to align training content with strategic business priorities.

• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of training programs, addressing emerging needs and challenges.

• Design and deliver engaging, impactful technical training programs for the Field Application Scientist (FAS) team, ensuring they have a deep understanding of our products, solutions, and applications. Together with FAS leadership coordinate the annual FAS onsite training with R&D.

• Create and implement sales training programs for the Technical Sales Specialist team and Bioproduction Account Managers, focusing on customer engagement, needs identification, solution positioning, and closing business.

• Own the training program for onboarding and continuous training for FAS and TSS, including training for NPIs, workflow and applications data.

• Translate complex marketing campaigns, programs, and product content into clear, concise training materials that can be easily understood by commercial teams.

• Use expertise in adult learning theories and principles to create engaging and effective learning experiences.

• Adapt training content to various learning styles and skill levels, ensuring accessibility and engagement for diverse audiences.

• Cultivate a culture of continuous learning and development within the commercial teams.

• Partner with product management and market development to develop and roll out training that empowers the commercial teams to effectively communicate the value proposition of CCCT solutions.

• Equip the commercial teams with the skills to address customer needs, overcome objections, and differentiate Thermo Fisher’s offerings in competitive environments.

• Use technology platforms (LMS, e-learning tools, etc.) to manage, organize, and distribute training content across the organization.

• Ensure that training materials are up-to-date, aligned with business goals, and easily accessible to all team members.

• Develop a methodology to assess training effectiveness, including measuring knowledge retention, application of learning, and business impact. This should be harmonized with the FAS and TSS competency model and skills tool.

• Conduct regular feedback loops with participants and team members to continuously improve training programs.

• Report on key training metrics, outcomes, and return on investment to leadership.

• Plan, organize and implement virtual and field-based trainings aligned with business goals and training strategy. Deliver training at global, national and regional sales meetings

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, Education, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.

• 5+ years of experience in training, sales enablement, or learning and development, preferably within the life sciences or biotechnology industry.

• Strong knowledge of Thermo Fisher’s product portfolio and the commercial landscape in bioproduction market.

• Proven experience in developing and delivering technical and sales training programs for diverse teams.

• Expertise in adult learning principles, instructional design, and the application of these principles in real-world training programs.

• Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other technology platforms used for content creation, delivery, and tracking.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to measure and report on training effectiveness and business impact.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences and team members.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in bioproduction, scientific sales, or laboratory equipment markets.

• Knowledge of e-learning development tools (e.g., Articulate, Captivate).

• Certification in instructional design or training development methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, SAM).
