National Grid Digital Business Intelligence Manager in Waltham, Massachusetts

This requires us to deliver on our promises and always look for new opportunities to grow, both ourselves and our business. ## Job Purpose National Grid is building a new team, Digital Acceleration (DA), to provide best-in-class digital delivery. DA will comprise two hubs, one in the US (Boston) and one in the UK (Birmingham) and will build digital products that create strategic value in a fast and agile manner. In addition to creating digital products, the DA hubs are talent incubators that will disseminate digital capabilities and culture within National Grid. The BI Manager will work closely with product managers, technical leads, and business partners through the full data analytics lifecycle, from ideation and exploratory analysis, to building product dashboards and reports, to A/B testing. In addition, the BI Manager will define KPIs to improve the user experience, and encapsulate these measures in clean, crisp dashboards to provide the team with answers on “How did the product perform?”, “Why did it perform that way?”, “How can we continue to improve the user experience and performance?”. ## Key Accountabilities + Work closely with Product Managers, Engineering, and business stakeholders to manage and prioritize incoming requests. + Given business level objectives, partner with business leaders to identify growth opportunities through data exploration, execute data driven POCs / MVPs to validate opportunities. + Build dashboards, self-service tools, and reports to analyze and present data associated with customer experience, product performance, business operations, and strategic decision making. + Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards to drive key business decisions. + Leverage industry best practices in establishing repeatable BI practices, principles & processes. + Participate in strategic & tactical planning discussions. + Hire, manage, coach, and lead a high performing team of BI Analysts. ## Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required + Able to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. + Demonstrated ability to interface effectively and collaborate with third party suppliers/vendors. + Demonstrated ability to partner with cross-functional teams, subject matter experts, and architects. + Demonstrated ability to drive sustainable process changes that realize significant business value. ## Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in an analytical or business field, or comparable business experience with technical background. + 5+ years' experience as a Business Intelligence or equivalent role. + Proficiency with SQL and data visualization tools to extract and present complex data in a clear, concise way. + Experience in solving business problems by leveraging advanced analytical techniques + Strong Analytical skills – has ability to start from ambiguous problem statements, identify and access relevant data, make appropriate assumptions, perform insightful analysis and draw conclusion relevant to the business problem. + Communication skills – Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical problems through simple means. Ability to present information professionally & concisely with supporting data. + High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously. + Capture the right metrics to influence stakeholders and measure success. ## More Information This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.
