Connected Banking Business Control Performance Manager

Job Description:

The Connected Banking team helps millions of BAC customers safely share their financial account data through secure Application Program Interfaces (APIs) with third party apps (e.g. Venmo, Mint, Robinhood). We work with Aggregators, Fintechs, and other Financial Institutions to develop solutions that promote innovative new experiences for our customers while ensuring security, privacy, control, and convenience. Today, third party aggregators, use client provided login credentials to sign-in on their behalf and pull account information (screen scrape). The company is undertaking an initiative to enter in data sharing agreements with third party Aggregators to migrate them to APIs in order to properly secure and protect data that is transmitted externally.

The role of Connected Banking Business Control Performance Manager, within the Data, Digital, & Global Marketing Organization, will be responsible for orchestrating governance and reporting routines to ensure accurate and timely monitoring of our key risks and controls. The ideal candidate will have a passion for risk management, data, organization, and be able to work across a matrixed team to ensure consistency and proper controls are in place. This candidate will also develop close working relationships with key stake holders and partners, building trust and confidence at all levels.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Evaluate current process for operational opportunities and/or gaps

  • Develop templates and procedural documents to ensure consistency in the execution of our process

  • Define structure for the storage of key evidence and documentation

  • Establish routines with appropriate stakeholder to enable ongoing dialogue regarding operational controls

  • Prepare materials and risk management updates to the senior leadership team and provide inputs to relevant Risk Committees

  • Communicate effectively and succinctly with Senior Executives and Regulators verbally and in written communications

  • Ambassador of the risk culture, partnering with leaders across the Data, Digital & Global Marketing organization to support short and long term strategy while providing expertise for the proactive identification of risk opportunities

  • Work closely with Data, Digital & Marketing leaders, Process Owners and other Key Stakeholders to support compliance needs, and provide subject matter expertise in the development, maintenance and ongoing refinement of Business Control metrics and scorecards

  • Actively participate in risk and compliance Assessments and initiatives, external and internal Audit exam requests as needed

  • Execute the Risk Framework / Process Management Policy Standards which may include input into horizontal activities such as RCSA, Operational Losses, and Policy / Regulatory Assessments

Required Skills:

  • Ability to coordinate, manage and effectively execute executive governance routines across the Data, Digital & Global Marketing organization

  • External Third Party Relationship Management skills

  • Strong combination of strategic thinking, detailed tactical planning, and project management expertise to drive business objectives

  • Demonstrated problem solving, strong follow up skills, and ability to escalate and gain resolution as needed

  • Ability to work independently, identifying opportunities and priorities and taking action

  • Critical thinker with the ability to challenge the norm and influence stakeholders at all levels in the organization, with excellent analytical skills and a process improvement mind-set

  • Self-starter, highly organized, excellent time and project management skills and ability to juggle multiple, competing priorities

  • Ability to build relationships across multiple businesses and/or business partners

  • Influence horizontally and vertically across the organization and diverse audiences

  • Excellent communication, presentation [verbal/written], and story-telling skills, who can effectively interface with all levels across the organization

Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity Operations/Risk/Business controls and risk management

  • Experience interacting with Auditors and Regulators

  • Working knowledge of Merrill Lynch, Private Bank, Consumer and Small Business

  • Experience with Enterprise Change Management process

  • Understanding of digital and marketing laws, rules and regulatory standards and requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint)
