Meet Our Team:

The Capacity Engineering team is tasked with managing and optimizing cloud infrastructure resources to ensure they meet the performance demands of applications and services, while maximizing efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Below is an overview of the team's key functions:

• Performance Metrics: Collecting and analyzing performance metrics to ensure that infrastructure is operating within acceptable thresholds.

• Cost Management: Analyzing cloud usage patterns to identify cost-saving opportunities, such as rightsizing instances or leveraging reserved instances.

• Resource optimization-: Optimizing the use of cloud resources to avoid over-provisioning and under-provisioning.

• Scaling Strategies: Developing strategies for scaling resources up or down based on predicted demand, including auto-scaling and load balancing.

• Best Practices: Developing and documenting best practices for capacity management and cloud resource optimization.

• Troubleshooting: Identifying and addressing capacity-related issues, such as resource bottlenecks or performance degradation.

• Incident Response: Developing and implementing incident response plans for capacity-related outages or performance issues.

What You'll Do at Pega:

• Work as a team to analyze the performance profile of enterprise software on the Pega Cloud and define performance best practices and governance policies.

• Develop tools and practices for infrastructure performance monitoring and resiliency testing.

• Work closely with capacity planning and operations teams to understand their needs and translate them into clearly defined requirements.

• Evaluate new and emerging technologies and determine applicability to current and future projects and markets.

• Participate in formal and informal reviews of ideas and technical objectives – promote ideas and practices which drive innovation.

• Communicate effectively with developers and product owners about performance analysis, presenting alternative approaches and plans when appropriate.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.

• Knowledge of major cloud platforms, such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform.

• Strong proficiency in Java and web technologies.

• Experience with Kubernetes and container technologies.

• Familiarity with performance evaluation tools, particularly in Java-based applications, is a plus.
