Brandeis University Assistant Director, External Engagement in Waltham, Massachusetts

The Hiatt Career Center at Brandeis University is looking for 2 innovative and entrepreneurial Assistant Directors to join our newly expanded External Engagement Team. Learn more about the Hiatt Career Center. The Hiatt External Engagement team works with employers, alumni, and parents in all fields and industries. The individuals in this role will develop, maintain, and grow relationships with employers, alumni, and volunteers to secure high-quality professional opportunities for Brandeis students. The Assistant Director plays a key role in supporting this innovative External Engagement Team, transforming the ways in which the Brandeis supports and develops external constituencies. Hiatt supports Brandeis undergraduate students and alumni of all affiliations, backgrounds, identities, and preferences in considering how intersecting identities might impact work and professional development. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years experience in recruiting (university, private, public sector), volunteer management, alumni engagement, career services or related areas. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills. Able to interact effectively as a member of a team, engage with diverse external audiences, and work collaboratively with other departments. Demonstrated computer skills including MS Office and Excel, databases, and web-based software. Able to solve problems and balance multiple projects, with a collaborative and entrepreneurial spirit. Key Responsibilities: Employer & External Relations Develop, maintain, and grow relationships and regular communications with employers, alumni, and volunteers to ensure a robust recruiting strategy for Brandeis students and alumni. Participate in local, regional, and national organizations to increase employment opportunities for students and alumni and stay current on recruiting trends. Support team strategy and goals including maintaining accurate notes and data to regularly inform data-driven decisions and identifying creative ways to engage external audiences. Campus Engagement Build connections with campus partners who work closely with employers, alumni, and volunteers to elevate their presence on campus and create opportunities for recruiting, networking, and career education. Collaborate with staff on the career team to understand students' needs and facilitate connections to alumni and employers. Develop, market and execute Hiatt programs to educate the greater Brandeis ecosystem about the Hiatt Career Center?s services, resources, and philosophy. Support the development and execution of engagement and recruiting efforts, such as career fairs, industry treks, panel discussions, and info sessions. Salary This is an exempt, benefits-eligible role working 35 hours/week. Early morning or early evening work may occasionally be required. This position may work a hybrid schedule with up to one remote day per week. Salary range is $60,000 - $65,000. Applications: Please submit a resume and cover letter.
