Biological/Chemical Scientist/Engineer

As a Biological/Chemical Scientist/Engineer in the Technical Operations group, you will lead and participate in investigations supporting the manufacturing of Blood Gas Sensors. Specifically, you will be responsible for:

  • Collaborating effectively with SystemsEngineers, Current Product Engineering and Software Engineers to report andrectify equipment reliability issues.

  • Coordinating and carrying out technicalinvestigations related to manufacturing challenges.

  • Driving process improvement initiatives aimedat improving productivity.

  • Supporting and leading change projects basedon the Healthineers Performance System methodology.

  • Authoring internal reports and presenting summarizeddata to diverse audiences including cross-functional groups.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Experience in regulated environments (ISO,FDA, etc.) within the medical device manufacturing, pharmaceutical,biotechnology, or life sciences industry

  • Bachelor’s in Science degree in ChemicalEngineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Polymers and Materials Science,Biomedical Engineering or similar discipline

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with a Master’sdegree or minimum of 5 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree.

  • Advanced understanding andknowledge of statistical methods and data analysis tools (Minitab, etc.), anddesign of experiments (DOE)

  • Advanced Project Management skills

  • Advanced ability to identifyopportunities for improvements in manufacturing that are efficient,sustainable, and compliant

  • Strong demonstrated fundamentalsin fluid mechanics and fluidic systems

  • Experience in developing a processfrom concept to transfer in manufacturing and/or experience working in ahigh-volume facility

  • Experience with DRM, and leanmanufacturing concepts

PreferredKnowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Experience in electrochemicalsensors or semiconductors manufacturing

  • Experience with selectivelydepositing thin film polymer solutions on substrates

  • Experience with variouscoatings/deposition and printing methodologies including spin, spotting, vapor,inkjet, aerosol, thick film, etc.

  • Experience with downstreamprocessing of thin films: drying/curing, conditioning, surface treatments andmodifiers, etc.

  • Experience with polymerformulations and control, and interactions with deposition/applicationprocesses

  • Ability to effectively prioritizeand manage multiple assignments with the flexibility to switch priorities tomeet business needs

  • Excellent interpersonal skills andability to effectively function in an interdisciplinary team environment
