Accounting Specialist Opportunity Summary:

Power Products Systems, a W.W. Williams Company, is the distributor for Detroit Diesel engines, Allison Transmissions, Carrier Transport Refrigeration, Volvo Penta and Kohler Power Generation Product. We are seeking a highly motivated Accounting Specialist, who is very hands-on and responsible for supporting general accounting functions including but not limited to journal entry preparation, account analysis, and assisting in month-end. Job Duties:

  • Assisting the accounting department in daily, monthly, and annual activities.

  • Maintaining accurate and complete records, including ledgers, invoices, and receipts.

  • Use documents to verify, record, and process transactions.

  • Keep accurate records of incoming and outgoing payments to the organization.

  • Ensure invoices are paid when necessary.

  • Ensure clients do not overpay for services or goods.

  • Collaborate with team members to provide necessary financial reports.

  • Assist with internal and external audit requests.

  • Reconciles various balance sheet accounts to the general ledger as assigned, which may include cash, accounts receivable, inventory, prepaid/other assets, fixed assets, accounts payable, debt, and accruals.

  • Maintains the fixed asset system and related journal entries and reconciliations to the general ledger.

  • Supports the treasury function, including daily cash position reporting and assisting with bank account reconciliations.

  • Supports the payroll department, including reviewing weekly and bi-weekly payroll journal reports and completing payroll journal entries.

  • Performs analyses on the balance sheet and income statement accounts.

  • Reviews monthly financial statements of various branches and divisions for accuracy.

  • Completes ad-hoc financial reports and/or financial analyses for internal or external parties as requested.

  • Corresponds with other accounting team members and corporate departments to ensure proper accounting for transactions, and by internal policies and controls

  • Work Experience and Qualifications:

  • We are willing to train the right candidate. Recent college graduates are encouraged to apply.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience with accounting software.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
