Sodexo Director, Energy - Service Operations in Virtual, Massachusetts
Unit Description
Sodexo is seeking a Director of Energy Services for our Service Operations group. Position is virtual with travel as needed. The candidate we seek has strong Technical/Engineering skills with experience conducting extensive energy audits.
The successful candidate must have thorough technical understanding of institutional, commercial and industrial energy systems, be knowledgeable of new and current technologies and trends, provide clear written and verbal communication to clients, and be able to work independently. Experience in conducting energy audits, utilizing appropriate tools (means & methods), knowledgeable in commodity purchasing and experience in implementing “proven” energy conservation technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform ASHRAE Level 1 & 2 site energy audits and present findings in concise reports that present recommended energy conservation measures including capital projects, operational changes and physical plant
Utilize accepted measurement and verification protocols to establish energy baselines and track post implementation performance
Prepare financial analysis that presents the expected return on investment of the recommended energy conservation measures
Analyze energy consumption metrics to identify opportunities and create control plans to sustain energy savings.
Collaborate with other Sodexo resources to implement best practices for consideration by other Sodexo clients
Thorough experience in constructability and budgetary costing of energy conservation measures to be implemented
Establish a positive rapport with Sodexo client management to deliver high value engagements
Perform special projects as required by our management or clients
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical or Electrical
7-9 years of experience in mechanical, electrical, plumbing design systems
Verifiable experience conducting ASHRAE Level 1 & 2 energy audits
Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or equivalent Certification is preferred
Professional Engineer’s (PE) license preferred
Ability to generate audit reports and communicate findings and recommendations in a professional and technically sound written and verbal manner
Working knowledge of building automation and control systems
Ability to conduct presentations to a Client.
Experience in analysis of electricity, natural gas, water and waste streams
Knowledge of multiple Energy Conservations Measures (ECM’s) to include; HVAC, lighting systems, mechanical and refrigeration systems
Experience recommending and quantifying energy conservation technologies and practices, including life cycle cost analysis
Modeling experience using DOE-2 a plus, Trane Trace, Carrier HAP or equivalent
Advanced computer knowledge - to include the ability to navigate through Microsoft Word, Power-Point and Excel applications and the Internet
Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering based building drawings
Excellent self-leadership, interpersonal communication skills, and cultural sensitivity with the ability to effectively and tactfully interact with individuals at all levels of the company

Position Summary
Provides technical guidance for site management both for Sodexo and clients. Delivers energy audit services directly or via external audit providers. Acts as the development point for new solutions - outlines the benefits of the solutions including design, development and roll out.
Provides solution development (develops scope and performs cost and technical writing of proposals) for energy opportunities in new sales and operational cross sales
Coordinates deployment, post sale, including the startup of energy programs where on-site energy managers are built into the solution. Absent on-site energy managers, responsible for deployment and some implementation on an on-going basis. Leverages and coordinates partners as necessary
Conducts either by self-performance or use of partners for one-off energy products/services such as consultative assessments (audits, energy star, etc.)
Works with clients to analyze energy usage/cost and systems
Where applicable provides clients with virtual/temporary energy management services
Qualifications & Requirements
Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
Basic Functional Experience - 7 years
