Kennedy-Donovan Center Emergency Shelter Assistant Supervisor in Uxbridge, Massachusetts

About this role:
Under the direction of the Program Supervisor, the Emergency Shelter Assistant Supervisor (ESAS) oversees a team of Direct Care Workers who are responsible for providing supervision over children who are utilizing the emergency shelter and in the custody of DCF. This happens when there are no placement options for the children. The ESAS handles many administrative and supervisory responsibilities. The ESAS is responsible for assisting in planning and implementing the identified needs of the children at the emergency shelter. The ESAS will assist in taking all referrals according to the policy, manage the staff of Direct Care Workers, and ensure the shelter home is managed appropriately, clean, and stocked with supplies and food.
Start Date: May 1, 2025
Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday, 10 pm - 6 am with on call rotation
We are looking for people who have:
Bachelor’s degree preferred in related field or Associate’s degree with 2 years of related experience, required.
Knowledge of working with DCF, preferred.
Able to meet the required competency level in Microsoft Office Software, required.
Ability to work with children with moderate to severe behavioral concerns and/or mental health or substance use diagnoses, required.
Knowledge of children with special needs including developmental disabilities as well as medical and/or other needs, preferred.
In this role, you'll get to:
Supervise and support full-time, part-time, and relief Direct Care Workers
Provide quality assurance oversight of department caseloads to ensure quality delivery of services, appropriate documentation and collateral contacts.
Participate in mandatory program meetings such as weekly division meetings, Emergency Shelter meetings and Leadership meetings, as needed.
Participate in group and individual supervision sessions, as needed.

Assists Program Supervisor in new hire training curriculum, as needed.
Assists with the executing of Direct Care Workers annual and modified trainings, as needed.
Ensures compliance and adherence to the Kennedy-Donovan Center and the Department of Children and Families philosophy and mission statements.
Participate in the development of treatment plans with the Clinical Coordinator, as needed.
Provide advocacy for individuals.
Collaborate with internal and external resources and community providers to ensure timely, safe, and appropriate placement services.
Comply with all KDC and DCF documentation requirements.
Provide transportation, as needed.
Complete intakes of all new children.
Maintain staffing operational standards including coverage.
Assisting Program Supervisor in disciplinary actions, as needed.
Perform other job-related responsibilities as assigned
Physical Requirements:
Some Travel may be required
Ability to sit for extended periods of time
Frequent telephone use required
Ability to use computer
Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
Ability to successfully complete QBS SafetyCare Training provided by KDC.
Ability to assist individuals with developmental disabilities and/or limited mobility (such as lifting, transporting) if needed.
