Tewksbury Treatment Center is a 32 bed detoxification program dedicated to helping men and women by providing 24 hour nursing care to monitor an individual’s withdrawal from alcohol and/or other drugs and alleviate symptoms. Clients are provided with the medical and emotional support that they need during the one of the most pivotal stages in the recovery process. Services include individual case management and group treatment services focused on assisting the client with accessing step-down levels of care. The Recovery Specialist position is a great opportunity for someone who seeks to be a positive presence in the lives of those who are struggling with addiction.

Job Description:

Essential Responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Ensuring the safety and structure of the program milieu by monitoring client activities.

  • Observes and supervises clients and unit; conducts 30 minute client well-being checks.

  • Conducts telephone admission screenings as well as other admissions duties.

  • Searches client belongings on admission and at discharge, or as otherwise directed by supervisor..

  • Completes all necessary checklists, shift documentation and record keeping in a timely manner in accordance with agency policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

  • Experience working with substance use population is preferred

  • Valid MA Driver’s License in good standing preferred
